Foot Orthotics are inserts put into your shoes to improve foot function by supporting and realigning the foot.
Custom foot orthoses are made from a plaster impression of your feet to give you correct support to suit your foot type.
Foot orthoses restrict abnormal foot motion by realigning and stabilising the foot. Custom orthoses provide a long term solution for many foot and lower leg issues.
The process involves:
- Assessment (initial appointment)
- Casting (full biomechanical assessment)
- Fitting (where the orthoses are issued and where Gabrielle will ensure the orthotics fit correctly and wearing in instructions are advised)
- Review (4 weeks later) – if there are any issues with the orthotics that need to be discussed or rectified.
